Dave Cormier is a web technologies specialist at the University of Prince Edward Island, cofounder of Edtechtalk, and president of Edactive Technologies, a social software consulting firm. He holds a master's degree in education from Mount St. Vincent University and teaches sporadically on a variety of educational topics. His major research interests include the tracking and development of educational technology, the examination of planned and unplanned online communities, and open-source multiuser virtual environments (MUVEs). Cormier is a member of the Joint Information Systems Committee Emerge Project in the United Kingdom and has designed and written a variety of grants and projects, including the recently completed Canadian Heritage-funded Living Archives project. He has produced, designed, or participated in over 300 online webcasts in the past three years and speaks regularly at conferences on topics including rhizomatics, effective use of new technologies, and educational project management and design.

The Services module package was created out of a need for a standardized solution of integrating external applications with Drupal. It builds on concepts from Drupal core's XMLRPC interface, but abstracts service callbacks so that they may be used with multiple interfaces like XMLRPC, SOAP, REST, AMF. This allows a Drupal site to provide web services via multiple interfaces while using the same callback code.

Since 1997 Jess has focused his career on understanding and developing positive user experiences for his clients and their users. Jess draws on techniques from usability, information architecture, and user research to generate client insight to drive innovation and create better customer experiences. His value-centered approach grounds customer experience strategy at the intersection of business goals and customer goals to produce return on investment for clients, and 'return on experience' for their customers. Jess regularly writes and speaks at conferences about user experience. He has contributed ideas and material for several user experience books, including Lou Rosenfeld and Peter Morville's Information Architecture for the World Wide Web, 2nd Ed.; Jesse James Garrett's The Elements of User Experience and Peter van Dijck's Information Architecture for Designers. His work appears as a case study in Designing Websites for Every Audience by Ilise Benun. Jess co-founded the Information Architecture Institute, the international professional organization for information architects, and served on the Board of Directors for 2004 and 2005.
